The King’s Journey

The King’s Journey follows the story of eight-year-old Uki who experiences the coronation of a Benin monarch for the first time. The reader joins Uki and his grandfather as they accompany the crown prince of Benin through different sacred sites across the ancient kingdom as he is crowned the Oba. From Uselu to the sacred palm tree, to Usama Palace and Useh Village, we join Uki and the people of Benin as they dance and celebrate the start of a glorious reign.
